Chapter One
The sound of the waves crashing against the shore could be heard clearly once again. He walked against the shore, with his hand holding onto his sister's hand.
"Ryo-nii-tan, why is the sea blue?" his sister asked. His sister, aged fourteen, is intellectually disabled. Although she looks normal, yet, her brain functions so much slower than the children of her age. In other sense, although she's fourteen outside, she's only a mere four to five years old inside of her.
"So that.." Ryo mumbled, as he gazed out to the vast blue sea. "So that one day, Aiko can go out with me, to sail the sea,"
"HONTO(Really)!?" his younger sister beamed. She pounced onto Ryo's body, and Ryo picked her up, and swinged her in the air. "See! You're flying~" Ryo laughed, along with Aiko's laughter.
"Here, have a bathe, we're having dinner soon," Ryo passed a towel, and a set of clothings to Aiko. His younger sister grabbed it, and waving her hand, she went ahead to bathe. Ryo smiled, as he rolled up his sleeve, got the bucket, and went over to their village's fishing pond to catch some fish. "Ah! Ryo-chan, you're working hard today as well!" the old lady commented. Ryo smiled at her, before he bypassed her, and went ahead to go to the pond.
"Ah! Ryo-chan, I've got some extra fishes today, here!" the old man in the pond got out, and transferred three fishes into his bucket. "Cook a spread for Aiko-chan today, ne!" Ryo thanked the old man, and started rolling up his shorts as well and entering the pond. He bended down, and placing his both hands into the pond, the fishes swim away fast, escaping from Ryo's hands. Then, Ryo caught off guard, and he tripped and fall, causing him to fall directly into the pond, his whole body wet.
"Ah! Are you okay?" A voice sounded. Ryo turned around, and realized a new face facing him. "Yea, I'm fine," Ryo answered. With the help of the other boy, he got up. The other boy, although was new, his fish-cataching skills was great. Ryo followed him, and he managed to catch more than five fishes in just a mere five minutes.
Getting out of the pond, Ryo smiled at him, "Thanks!" as he picked up the bucket and rushed home. Aiko will be so happy with the spread tonight. At the pond, the other boy continued catching the fishes, and realeasing them back into the pond.
"Tomo-chan, it's dinner!" the boy's mother had came here to call him to go back. Realeasing the last fish he caught back into the pond, the boy stepped out and left a trail of water footsteps behind him.
Yamashita Tomohisa, that's the boy's name.
