Author's Note: I suddenly got the urge to write a oc fanfiction. Of course, it'll always feature me and riko :D. It's standard :x.
Few months have passed since the outing, and Aiko and Chinen were already steady together. Riko and Takaki have just started going out, but everything is going on quite well. "Chii, are you doing to attack soon? You're spending too much time on this girl," Takaki commented, as he took up his whiskey to drink.
"Yuyan, speak yourself. Riko is not the type of girl you will invest in,"
"She's cute, it's worth it," Takaki replied. "So is mine," Chinen retorted.
Both of them laughed in silence, as they enjoyed their drink in the bar. At the side, all Erika did was shake her head. How did these boys become like this anyway? They were more... innocent back when they were young, and it's all her sister's fault. Why did her sister treated them like that, when they were just young children?
"CHII!" Aiko shouted, as she rushed up towards Chinen's side. Chinen encircled his hand around her waist, and Aiko just blushed slightly. "Ready to go, Ai-chan?"
Aiko nodded her head shyly, and they walked off. In Chinen's head, he had already planned everything for today. Today- will be the day that he will break off with Aiko, and let her suffer exactly everything that he is going to implant on.
Aiko and Chinen was walking, when Aiko suddenly lost her balance, and almost fall. Chinen caught her in the nick of the time, and helped her over to the chair. "Ai-chan, you... alright?"
"I'm fine, ne," Aiko whispered, still showing her smile, even though her face was as pale as a sheet. Aiko and Chinen have sat in the chair in silence for quite awhile, before Aiko have spoken up. "Chii, I.. want to tell you a story, if you don't mind been.. bored or something,"
Chinen laughed, and placed his hand onto Aiko's hand, "I'll listen," Right in his heart, he have mentally cursed himself. This is not in my plan, damn it.
Aiko lowered her head, and tears started to form at the tip of her eyes. "It's about... my ex.."
Chinen placed his hand around Aiko's shoulder, and started to grasp onto it lightly. "I'm listening.."
Saito Hiroyuki. That's right, that's her ex-boyfriend's name.
The wind was blowing silently towards her direction, as she slowly paced herself to the meeting place. "Hiro-kun.." she whispered his name, as she hold on tightly to the present on her hand. It's valentine day, and she's going to give her boyfriend a valentine present, as well as their two years anniversary present.
She slowly walked to the meeting place, as she enjoyed the breeze blowing into her direction. Reaching, she spotted the familiar figure at the entrance, as he gazed around, and caught sight of her. He hesistated, before he called out her name. "Aiko!"
"Hiro!" she said, as she ran up to his side, and started to smile. Grabbing onto the box, she shoved the present right in front of him. "Happy Valentine Day!" she said, with a smile on her face, and a blush decorated her face. Hiroyuki took the present over, and smiled. "Thanks.."
"Let's go!" Hiroyuki continued. "What's inside?" he asked, as they walked hand in hand, with their hands interlocked with each other. Aiko giggled, "It's something for you to check it out yourself,"
Hiroyuki smiled.
They reached the cinema, and Aiko have went ahead to book the tickets, while Hiroyuki have make a phone call. When she was walking near to Hiroyuki, she overheard the conversation he was having with the caller.
"I thought I told you we're over?" Hiroyuki practically hissed into the phone. He sighed, and shake his head. "Kiri, I can't do this... not when Aiko is looking forward to today..."
"Kiri.... I'm sorry, alright? Even if we both have mutual feelings for each other...we can never be together..." Hiroyuki said, before he hung up his phone. He placed his phone into his pocket, before he punch the tree beside him. "DAMN IT!" he shouted, which earned him a few glance from the passer-bys.
Aiko turned and hide away. What was that? ...
Aiko slowly controlled her feelings, and decided to act like nothing is wrong. Forcing a smile onto her face, she ran up towards Hiroyuki's side, and tapped him on his shoulder. "Let's go in! I've bought the tickets!"
"Alright," Hiroyuki smiled, and patted her head, before ushering her into the cinema.
Aiko hesitantly followed after Hiroyuki, not saying a single word to him. After the movie, Hiroyuki have suggested to go for dinner. "What do you like to eat?"
Aiko's head was lowered down, and she clenched her fist. "Hiro-kun, don't you have anything to say to me?" Hiroyuki halted, before he giggled, and walked forward to Aiko. "What do you want me to say?"
"Ki..Kiriko. Kiriko Hoshino. You was talking to her just now, right?" Aiko said, shaking off the hands that were grabbing her arms. "Aiko.. It.. It wasn't what you .."
"It's ok!" Aiko said, controlling her tears from falling down. "You know, Hiro-kun, you've not been yourself today, I thought you were tired, and wanted to finish this as soon as I could so that you could go home and rest. But.. But I guess I was wrong. You wasn't sick, what you needed was just the right partner beside you today," Aiko whispered, yet Hiroyuki was able to hear it very clearly.
"...and that girl is not me," Aiko giggled, her voice was hoarse. Hiroyuki attempted to reach for her, but Aiko have backed off again. "Don't... don't touch me when you don't have any feelings for me anymore.."
Hiroyuki widened his eyes, before he walked off. Aiko squatted down onto the floor and cried, before she dragged her feet home. In her brain, the pain was pressing onto her nerve like it could burst any moment.
"... You didn't get to tell him about your illness?" Chinen asked, as his fingers tightened around Aiko's shoulder. Warm tears dropped onto his shoulders, and Aiko's fingers turned cold. She smiled weakly, and looked at Chinen. "I didn't have the chance.."
Chinen's heart clenched, as he looked down to the said girl. Damn it, how could he make up the words that he wanted to tell her? he thought. He looked down to the girl that was still smiling bitterly, and her hands were trembling. Fear? he guessed.
"Ai-chan, no matter what happened, I'll stay by your side.." Chinen whispered, as he pulled Aiko in for a hug. Chinen didn't know what happened to him at that time, but all he knew was, he didn't want to part off with Aiko, not in this way,
With Chinen's help, Aiko have somehow managed to hide off the fact that she's ill. The next thing she know, Chinen was right beside her at the doorstep of her house. "Chii, remind me, why are you here?"
"Eh? Stop acting innocent, Ai-chan!" Chinen said, before he lightly hit her on her head. Aiko giggled, before she started to dig out her keys. "Chii, I'm fine now, you should go back, it's late,"
"It's okay. I've told Yuyan that I'll be home late already. Now open the door and let me in. It's freezing outside here!" Chinen started grumbling, before Aiko shake her head, and went to the keyhole. "Chii, you're really a kid," she whispered.
"I'm ho.." before Aiko could say finish, she realized the house was dark. She on the lights, and went towards the dining room. On the table, was a note left by Riko.
Aiko-nee,
I'm going over to Taka-kun's house tonight. So if you have anything, don't call me, ne!
Riko
"She..." Aiko throw the paper down, and attempted to run out of the house, when her head started to ache, and she almost fall, just that, someone was there to caught her instead.
"Ai-chan!"
"Chii, thanks.. I'm.. fine," Aiko whimpered, before she got up, and attempted to get ut of the house again. "Ai-chan! Where are you going?"
"Find Riko! What if.. What if something happens to her?"
"Yuyan won't do anything like this! Don't worry! Morever, you're now.." Chinen started to panick, and held onto Aiko's arm tightly. "Chii! I need to find Riko! I'm worried!"
"I'M WORRIED FOR YOU TOO!" Chinen screamed, which made Aiko to stop struggling. Aiko turned, and looked at Chinen. Chinen's face was flushed red, and he was panting hard and loud. "Ai-chan, please.. Just listen to me for this once, will you? I..." he stopped, and gazed into Aiko's eyes. "I don't want anything to happen to you.."
What's wrong with me? This is not in the plan, at all.. Chinen thought.
"Taka-kun, how are you so sure that Chinen will be home late today?" Riko asked, as he looked up at the said boy.
Takaki smiled, before he patted the younger's girl head. "He will, I just got that feeling. After all, he's my younger brother," he looked up, and gazed at the night sky. "Because, Chii-tan, truly loves Aiko-chan,"
Riko smiled, before she placed her head onto Takaki's shoulders. "How about Taka-kun, do you..." before Riko asked finish, Takaki have used his palm to cover up her mouth. "Ri-chan, my feelings for you are true," Riko blushed, before she turned away. Takaki laughed, "I wonder, how is Chii-tan doing now,"
"Eh? Taka-kun, did you say something?" Riko asked, as she diverted her attention to Takaki. Takaki just shake his head. "Nothing,"
Chinen was settled down on the floor, in the respective stance, while Aiko was lying on the bed. "Chii, sorry, even though you accompanied me home all the way, you still need to ta--" before Aiko finished her words, she started coughing again. "Ai, you alright? Rest for now," Chinen said, as he stood up, and covered Aiko with her blanket. Aiko smiled, before her face turned red, and she faced the other side.
Slowly, Aiko's eyelid got heavier and heavier.
Chinen decided to stay by her side a little while longer. Just a little while.
"Taka-kun, I think I better get home. Aiko-nee will be worried sick," Riko said, as she got up from her bench. Takaki stood up, and stretched himself. "Yea, you should. C'mon, I'll send you home," Takaki said.
Erika, who was sitting by the bar, looked at the ash-try on the bar top. Just then, someone had grabbed it, and Erika's eyes just followed them.
"Nee-san, it's been awhile, ne?" the person voiced out, when Erika caught sight of her. "To...mo.."
Aiko's eyes fickled, before she opened them again. She sat up, and wanted to get up to get a glass of water, when she looked down, and realized that Chinen was by the table, his head resting onto the table. Aiko grabbed her jacket, and placed it over her. Walking up, she touched Chinen's face gently. Just then, he fidgeted, and his eyes opened.
"Ai? What's wrong?"
"I thought you've went home," Aiko said, as she giggled slightly. Chinen smiled, and lightly hit Aiko on the head again. "I'm worried about you, you know!" Aiko pouted, before she apologized. Just when she was about to stand up, she lost her balance, as the world started to spin around her. "AI!" Chinen practically screamed.
Just at that moment, Riko have opened the door, and heard the shout. She hurriedly rushed up, and was about to enter the room, when Takaki have grabbed onto her arm. He then bended down, and whispered into her ears. "Ri-chan, privacy,"
Riko was forcefully dragged away by Takaki, when the next sentence Aiko said made them stayed on.
"Ne, Chii, isn't it time for you to... confess to me?" Aiko was helped to the bed by Chinen. "Confess? Ai-chan, what're you talking a---"
"About you and Takaki,"
Riko who was outside, glanced at Takaki, and he made no reaction. All he did was continued listening to what Aiko and Chinen was saying about inside the room. "Ai...chan?"
"I know about it already. Chii, Takaki can lie to Riko-chan, but... you see, I'm not a naive person like my sister," Aiko said, as she stood up, before she walked over to her desk, and grabbed a document. "Chinen Yuri, Takaki Yuya. You both are the predators, right?"
"...." Chinen turned away. Aiko gritted her teeth as she looked at Chinen's reaction. "Both of you suffered from the damage you've receieved when you were young, so you guys grew up in that phobia, and now... you all are taking revenge on every single girls.." Aiko said, as she threw the document down onto the floor.
Riko's head was now lowered, and she slowly opened the door, walked in, and picked up the document. Slowly, she read every single word, trying her best to absorb them. "Aiko-nee, is this... all true?"
"Riko..." Aiko looked at her younger sister, before she nodded her head. Takaki sighed, before he walked into the room, and looked to Chinen. Chinen looked up. "Nii-chan.." he whispered, as tears surfaced.
Damn it, Chii-tan, you're.. really fall for her already.. Takaki thought.
Aiko went over, and grabbed onto Riko's shoulders, as her tears started dripping onto her shoulders. Turning, she faced to where Takaki and Chinen was. "Sorry predators, but I've already found it out long ago," Takaki walked up, and hold Chinen up. "How did you know?"
"Because, I'm a predator myself," Aiko said, before she glared up at the boys. "I'm sorry boys, that I didn't tell you this,"
Takaki shrugged his shoulders, before he started leaving the room.
I wanna know the reason why
don't change your mind now
"Are you really going... to leave?" Riko mumbled out, as she looked at Takaki, with her tear-stained face. Takaki turned around. "Our plan is busted. We are only left with one choice, ain't we?"
Chinen hesistatedly turned his head around. "Ai..." Aiko glanced up, Chinen's teary eyes was caught into hers. "Whatever I said today, are real, and they'll never change.."
"Let's go," Takaki said, before he helped Chinen out. Later, the main door closing was heard.
Riko crumbled down to the floor, and started bursting into tears. "Riko..."
"Aiko-nee..!" Riko screamed, as she jumped into Aiko's embrace. "Aiko-nee, what is this predator thing?!"
Predators are people who hunt down people. Yes, they're known as predators. Naive and dull people that are been attacked by them are prey. The Prey and Predator will never get the happy ending together. No, not when they're both from different worlds, with different thinkings.
"Aiko-nee... you're a predator?" Riko asked, as she got up, and looked at Aiko. Aiko smiled, and patted Riko's head. "Silly, of course not. I'm just a stupid prey that fall for the trap of a predator,"
Takaki slammed opened the door, and thumped down onto the sofa. Chinen dragged his feet, and settled down onto the sofa as well. "Hey... boys, welcome back, I've ..." Erika greeted them, her voice was shivering nervously, as she grabbed a cigarette out of her pocket to smoke.
"Eri-chan! Today is the worst! You know, our prey found out that we're lying!" Takaki complained, with Chinen's head lowered at the side. "Boys..?" Erika said, before she lifted her head, to looked at that figure just at the corner. "Eri-chan? What's wrong? You seemed to be in a daze," Takaki was concerned, as he got up, and swing his arm around her shoulders. "If you're desperate, you know you can always come and find me,"
Erika had used her elbow to attack Takaki in the stomach. "I have so--" before Erika could complete her sentence, another voice was heard.
"Yuya...Yuri..."
Chinen's body stiffened at the sound of that familiar voice. Takaki took back the arm that was over Erika's shoulders, and he immediately rushed in front of Chinen, and send daggers towards the direction of the voice. "Bitch... what're you doing here?"
The lady, dressed in her tank-top, and shorts, was standing just at the other side of the long sofa they were settled on. "Yuri.." her voice sounded again. Chinen cupped his ears, as he started to shriek.
"Chii-tan! Chii-tan!" Takaki started to shake Chinen, before he opened his eyes. Apparently, he fainted right after he shouted, and Takaki have hurriedly piggy-back him back to their room. "Nii-chan! NII-CHAN! She's... she's back..!"
"I know.. don't worry. I'll protect you," Takaki assured him. Chinen fall to sleep once again. That bitch... I need to do something about it.. Takaki thought.
"Riko-chan?" Aiko called her, as she knocked onto her room's door. She softly opened it up, and realized that Riko wasn't around anymore. She went out to the dining room, and realized that breakfast was ready on the table.
Aiko-nee,
I'm fine already. I'm going to work early today, and I made breakfast. Wash the dishes before you leave!
Riko
Aiko smiled, and took up the utensils before she started to eat them.
Riko walked down the streets, and she feel the wind blowing into her direction. "Taka-kun..." Riko whispered. Just then, her phone started to vibrate, which made her jerked up. She placed her hand into her pocket, and took it out. The caller was unknown. "Moshi moshi?"
"Ri-chan,"
"Taka... Taka-kun!?" Riko practically shouted. From the other line, Takaki's laughing voice could be heard. "Ri-chan, can I meet you now? I've something really important to tell you," Riko grabbed onto her phone, before she shouted, "ANYTIME!" This made the passer-by to all looked at Riko, who was making a fuss since just now. She embarrassingly bowed down, before Takaki started to tell her the meeting venue.
When she arrived, she already saw Takaki at the table. "Ri-chan!" he started waving, before Riko have paced herself further down to him. "Sorry that I'm late, did you wait long, Taka-k--" before she finished, she pulled the chair, and settled herself down. "Takaki Yuya... is that your real name?"
Takaki widened his eyes, as he placed his coffee down onto the table. "Yea, I always used my real name, unlike Chii-tan,"
"But.. Chii-tan.. Chinen is called Chinen Yuri? So he used his real name?" Riko asked, when the waitress came by. "Orange juice," the waitress nodded and walked off. "Yea, seems like it. Before he knows, he went off telling your sister his real name,"
"Then... what is it that you want to talk to me about?" Riko said, when the waitress once again came by, and placed the orange juice down onto the table, before she took it up, and sipped on it. "It's about us... I don't know, but I feel that if I don't do something, Chii-tan might collapsed any moment.."
Riko remained silent and listened.
"She's back.. that woman, she's back.." Takaki whispered, loud enough for Riko to hear.
"Who's that woman?" Riko bluntly asked.
Tomoki. That's the woman name. She's Chinen real mother, and Takaki's adopted mother. When Takaki was six, his parents died due to the over dosage of drugs. One night, all it took was one night, and Takaki become an orphan. Later, he was put up in the orphanage, and Chinen's father came by to adopt him as his son.
At that time, Chinen's father and his mother had a sour relationship, and whenever they argued, Chinen would always locked himself up in the room. Probably, Takaki was adopted back so that his father would be least worried about Chinen suffering from some pyschological damage. Few years later, Chinen's father passed away.
Tomoki, Chinen's mother, started to cry. Then, she turned berserk overnight. She started blaming Chinen for been born in this world, after that, she started to abuse him. She took everything she could find. Takaki couldn't be by Chinen's side every time, since he's so much older than him. When Takaki came home one day, he saw that Chinen's leg was bleeding profusely, and a glass piece was stuck on it. His face was pale white. Takaki, carried Chinen all the way to the hospital.
This left a big scar on this thigh- for life.
"Does... Aiko-nee know about this?" Riko said, as her finger shivered, and she picked up the glass of orange juice. "No..." Takaki shake his head. "I don't think Chii-tan did tell him about this,"
Both of them keep quiet, before Takaki stood up, and slammed the table. "RI-CHAN! Please, tell Aiko to look after Chii-tan!"
"But... but Aiko-nee can't do anything right?" Riko asked again, as she looked up to Takaki. "SHE CAN!" Takaki said, before he settled down onto the chair. "Chii-tan likes her after all, so... she really can,"
Riko looked down, before she took out her cellphone. Takaki looked at her questionly. "Didn't you ask me to tell Aiko-nee?"
"WAIT! WHAT THE HELL do you think you're doing!? This is not the expression I want!" Aiko shouted. Just then, her pocket started to vibrate. "Break time!" she screamed, throwing the script down onto the floor, and walked out of the room to pick up her phone. "Riko? What's wrong? I'm working," Aiko replied.
Riko started to blabber non-stop into the phone, but Aiko was absorbing every single word she is hearing. "Where is he now!?" Aiko screamed back. Riko smiled, and told her the address, before Aiko closed her phone, and ran out of the studio.
Her head was hurting, but she didn't care what was going to happen to her. All she know was that, Chinen is important to her. She didn't want to lose him.
"Whatever I said today, are real, and they'll never change.."
Aiko closed her eyes, and ran all the way. Her head wasn't allowing her to, but all she knew she needed to get to that place very fast. She barged into the pub, and a woman in her thirties had stopped her. "Sorry but we're closed for now,"
"I'm Sugihara Aiko, please let me pass,"
Erika backtracked, and smiled. "So you're Aiko, huh... Please look after Chinen. Leave her mother to me, alright?" Aiko nodded, and she slowly walked in. "Just walked straight, and turn right. Ask Taka-chan, and Chinen not to worry about Tomo,"
Aiko nodded her head, before she started to walk straight in.
She knocked on the door, and no voice was heard. She slowly opened the door, and peeped in. Chinen was lying on the bed, and his eyes were closed. Panting, she walked up, and touched his forehead. "Ai-chan...?" his voice sounded, and he opened his eyes. "Chii..." she muttered. "I've heard it, about... her," Aiko whispered. Chinen struggled to get up, and Aiko helped him. "Chii, about what you said... do you really.." before Aiko finished, Chinen have placed his finger onto Aiko's chin.
He lifted it up, and planted a kiss onto her soft lips. "Ai-chan, I love you,"
Aiko collapsed down, and Chinen have grabbed onto her tightly. "Somehow, this seems to be the typical ending for a couple, don't you think so, Ai?"
Aiko smiled, before her head started to hurt, and she grabbed tightly onto Chinen's shirt. "I don't think this is the end yet, Chii..." her voice got softer, and she fall into darkness.
"CHII!" Takaki's loud voice was heard across the passageway, and Chinen stood up from his seat, and walked to Takaki. "Yuyan!"
"Where's Aiko-nee!?" Riko started to grabbed onto Chinen's arm tightly, and Chinen only lowered his head. Takaki started to grabbed onto Riko, and he looked at Chinen. "Chii-tan, say it,"
"Ai-chan... she've been diagnosed with brain tumor few years back.." Chinen said, as he slumped down onto the seat behind him. "She... have been fighting this illness for years..."
"Why didn't she tell me!?" Riko send a fist into the wall, and she crumbled to the floor. Takaki caught her from behind, and helped her to the chair.
The red light went off, and the doctor came out of the operation theatre.
"Is she alright?" Chinen asked, and the doctor took off his mask. "This is the first time I've operated on such a miracle. First, her heart stopped, and it came back few seconds. Normal patient won't passed through, but... she did,"
The doctor looked down to Chinen and said. "The operation is a success, but... it's probably the worst for you,"
"What do you mean?" Takaki interrupted. "The tumor will forever be there. And... we can't really save her completely. We won't know her next attack.. If she's lucky, she'll live through her life. If she's not... she'll die anytime,"
"What's the ... shortest span?" Riko asked, her voice trembling. "Two years, this operation will last her two years," the doctor said, before he passed by Chinen, and patted his shoulders. "Be prepared for the worst, young man," and he walked off.
"Taka-kun, is it really okay to leave Chinen with Aiko-nee?" Riko asked, as she stopped at the passageway, and looked back to the room where Aiko was located at. "Don't worry, Chii-tan... he'll know what to do,"
Riko smiled, and she walked off, when Takaki have grabbed onto her wrist. "Ne, Ri-chan, even if I'm a predator..." he stopped, when Riko turned around. "Are you still willing to go with me?"
Riko's smiled widened, and she pounced onto Takaki. "More than ever, Mr predator,"
Takaki placed his hands onto Riko's back.
"Ne, Ai-chan... about your illness, have you heard from the doctor?" Chinen asked, as he took an orange and started peeling it.
It have been few weeks after the operation and Aiko is slowly recovering from it. "I know. That's bad right? I won't know when I'll die," Aiko sighed, before she grabbed a slice of orange from Chinen's hand, and popped it into my mouth. Aiko gazed out of the window, and Chinen's heart clenched.
Chinen placed the orange onto the side, and grabbed onto Aiko's hand.
"Ai-chan, no matter what, we'll be together, forever," Chinen said, and he planted a warm smile onto his face.
Fate and memories go over the space
they will still lead our endless love
"Really? Will we?" Aiko tightened the grip
Cause you're my one in a million
Just like that, believe me
"We'll be together forever from now on, believe me, Ai-chan.." Chinen said, with his assuring eyes. Aiko interlocked her fingers into Chinen's hand, and gazed out of the window.
"Because, I'm the prey, and you're the predator,"
