This is deep shit. Ryutaro thought to himself as he finally released the grip of Keito’s hand. “I’m sorry, Okam---” Keito then looked at Ryutaro. “Keito is fine. Okamoto just doesn’t seem right,”

Ryutaro just blinked his eyes. “Sure,”

Keito then turned and collapsed onto the bench found not far away. “Thanks a lot, Ryu. I was really hoping someone would have grabbed me and run away from that kind of scenario,”

Ryutaro tried to force a smile, before he slowly walked towards Keito’s side, and settled down onto the bench as well. “You’re… welcome. I just felt that there was a need to drag you away, that’s all,”

A bitter smile appeared onto Keito’s face before Ryutaro just looked away. This Keito that was beside him is not the normal cheerful Keito that he first know. This is the Keito that he saw back then at the riverbank. The Keito that feels like he had went through a lot.

“Don’t you have anything to ask me?” Keito questioned, before moving an inch from his current position. “If you want to tell me, you will, right?” Ryutaro replied.

Keito shake his head, before pulling Ryutaro nearer to him. “Don’t get too cocky, you little piece of shit,”

Ryutaro smiled.

“Come on in,” Keito ushered Ryutaro into his room. Ryutaro’s head flashed back when Keito had suddenly invited Ryutaro over to his house. Keito promised to explain everything over there.

Ryutaro settled down on the chair at the study table, and Keito have opened his cupboard to grab the book that he dumped in the other time. Taking it out, he placed it on the table, before he went over to his bed. Ryutaro looked at Keito, before he followed Keito’s vision towards the book on the table.

“Take a look, you’ll know the story from inside,”

Ryutaro took the book and started to read the contents. The book was decorated with a black velvet cover, and inside was pages and pages of photos.

The photos of him and Riko.

Not only that, the last page was empty, and Ryutaro then looked at Keito, who by then had took a photo out from his pocket.

“I lied,” Keito whispered. Ryutaro continued to look at his precious one as Keito lied onto the bed and started to arrange the events in his head.

“Few months ago, Keito transferred to our school. At that time, he was a quiet, and mysterious boy. Nobody dared to talk to him, and one day, I approached him. Keito wasn’t what everybody thought he was. Keito was actually quite… quite approachable I guess. But, everything changed when he suddenly proposed something to me,” Riko explained, as Aisane’s hand was over her shoulder. Across her, was Yuto and Yamada- who have calmed down.

***

“I suggested us to become the ‘couple’ of the school. Both of us vowed not to fall in love with each other, and that, if one of us decided to break up, we need to give a valid reasons. We cannot tell anybody on our game, and that, if people asked, we just have to say that it’s real,” Keito said, before he got up from the bed, and look at the book that Ryutaro was holding onto. “That book, was like the agreement between both of us,”

Ryutaro looked at Keito, before Keito continued the story.

***
“We had a book, to put in the ‘collection’ of our memories. It was like an agreement between both of us to never say out the truth. We were just having fun then, and we didn’t think so much on the future. Then one day, Keito confessed to me. Of course I didn’t say anything… but… I lied to him that I love him too,”

***

“I confessed to Riko. I told her how much I love her, I told her that if she love me too, she should follow me to wherever I go,”

***

“I couldn’t do it. After all, I didn’t really like him that time. I told him to go and I might probably just follow after him one day,”

***

“She told me to carry on without her. On the day of my departure, I found out that Riko have always been betraying me. She has been with another person all along while she was having this ‘game’ with me. It couldn’t be considered a betrayal, since we’re not real. But… the truth hurts right? She was long taken way before I proposed this game. She didn’t told me the truth, she was a liar,”

***

“I never told him that I actually had a boyfriend. I quarreled with my boyfriend and didn’t want to contact him. That was when Keito came and proposed the game to me, and I agreed. I was just thinking of pissing my boyfriend off that I didn’t thought of the consequences back then,”

Aisane’s hand moved off from Riko’s shoulders. “You had a boyfriend?”

“I’m sorry, Aisane. I couldn’t tell you. My boyfriend was one badass, and I didn’t want anyone to know it at all,”

***
Ryutaro placed the book onto the table, before he waited patiently for Keito to continue his story.

“I called her when I arrived here, and told her a lie. I couldn’t bear the loneliness. I couldn’t live without her at this point of time. I told her I have an incurable illness that I’ll probably die here, she ignored my calls for the entire time once she heard about it,”

***

“He said he had cancer, and is about to die. I was so confused. I didn’t want to be with him. All I thought was for myself. I didn’t want to be associated with Keito in anyway. Not long, my boyfriend broke up with me, and that was when I realized how important Keito is in my life. It took my long enough to realize, and I run here,”

***

“She probably broke up with her damn boyfriend, and so she just came running back to me. I didn’t want to be a substitute. Back then when she chooses not to come over immediately when she knew I had the illness, she had already chosen her own future over me. She wasn’t worth the time,”

Ryutaro cut Keito off. “Did you really have an illness?”

“It was cured way back. I’m fine now, like, no illness or nothing,”

Ryutaro heaved a sigh of relief before letting Keito to continue his story.

***

“I’m sorry everyone for hurting Keito. It’s all come down to my fault. I have lost to Keito, and I can never be forgiven,” Riko said, before her tears run down. Yuto got up, and went over to Riko. “I can’t forgive you for hurting Keito. But I can’t forgive Keito for doing something horrible to Yama-chan either,”

Yamada wanted to say something, but decided to stop. Nobody can change Yuto’s mind after he made a decision.

“I suggest you to get out of Keito’s life, or the best is to get out of Japan and never ever interfere into Keito’s life ever again. If I still see you doing that, I don’t know what I will do to you in the future,” Yuto said. Riko looked up, and Yuto continued his sentence, “Even if you’re a girl,”

Aisane have grabbed onto Riko’s hands, and pulled her behind herself. “Don’t you do anything to her,”

“You better grabbed your that friend and run away as far as you can, because right now, I’m fucking pissed off with her,” Yuto said.

Aisane then grabbed Riko and walked off towards the school direction.

Yamada got up, and hugged Yuto from the back. “Yuto, it’s fine already. Just relax, all right?”

Yuto sighed. “I’m sorry that I couldn’t do anything for you, Yama-chan,”
