Chapter Nine

Tegoshi sat inside his room, trying his best to comprehend what was happening. He's the son of the 'Guardian of Doors' , and Natsume-san is dead? The details of her features flashed back into his mind, it was only a few days ago..

"Natsume-nee!" Tegoshi called out, as he waved his hands, and with quick steps, he walked into the gate entry. "Here! I bought your favourite Onigiri~" With that, Tegoshi passed the packet of onigiri to the lady that was standing at the entrance of the door, into the orphanage.  The children were having their naps at this moment, and Tegoshi then entered into the staff room, along with Natsume. Tegoshi settled down onto the sofa at the corner. He looked around, nostalgic feeling overwhelmed him.

"Natsu-nee, are you busy?" Tegoshi asked, looking around, observing.

"Nah. What's wrong, Tego-kun?" Natsume asked, as she stopped what she was doing, and looked up.

"Natsu-nee, how come I am here? I never asked you about my birth, but.. I am just wondering, how did i arrive here? Like, yea.." Tegoshi asked, his voice trailing off, not knowing on any idea how to phrase his question in a much more appropriate manner.

Natsume smiled. She walked towards Tegoshi, and patted his shoulders. "I found you, you could say, i am your benafactor!" she laughed, and continued. "It was raining at that time, i was closing the windows, when i heard a soft crying of baby. Well you know, the rain was heavy, so i thought i was hearing things. But then, i moved abit, and i realised there is indeed a sound of a baby crying. So I got anxious, and took out my um--" Tegoshi cut her off, "Natsu-nee, you don't need to go until so DETAILED,"

Natsume laughed it off. She then continued,"So i went outside, and looked around. Then, just under the pavillion, i saw a basket. I went towards it, and the sound of the baby could be heard clearly. I looked inside, and i saw you. Your face was so cute and puffy. It was so chubby you know!" Tegoshi glared at Natsume, indicating her to go baack to the main point.

Natsume cleared her throat, and sitting straight up, she continued. "Inside the basket, i saw a letter. It wrote that this baby name is Tegoshi Yuya, and the person asked me to take care of him, and find him a good family to be adopted in, so I took you in! The end."

Tegoshi was already looking sad. "Did my parents didn't want me?" he mumbled. Natsume patted his shoulders. "I don't think so, Tego-kun. I only know that, if your parents wanted you to be adopted into a good family, they would probably loved you, but have some reasons, thus unable to take care of you? I believed that they wants you to live on, ne?" Tegoshi got up, and smiled. "Thanks alot, Natsu-nee, for telling me," Tegoshi then looked at his watch, before he left. "Goodbye Natsu-nee!" and he walked out of the door. Ririko Natsume. She stood up, and gazed out of her window, as she sees Tegoshi walking away, a smile on her face. "Tego-kun, sorry for not telling you everything I know.."

Tegoshi sighed. Why did everybody so precious to him is leaving his side one by one? First, is Massu. Second, is Natsu-nee. He grabbed a piece of paper on the table, and wrote his letter. What number is this already? He had lost count..

Dear Massu,

Where are you? Why did you leave me? Do you know how much I miss you?

Yuya

As he wrote, he observed the ink of the pen coming out smoothly. He looked at the letter, and he folded it once again, into a paper plane, and send it out. Tegoshi made sure that the paper plane is out of sight, before he closes his window, and went to sleep.

Ryo took out the letter that he had kept safely inside his pocket all this time. He laid it out nicely onto the table.

Dear Massu,

I wrote a song.. You know right? Are you getting my feelings?

Yuya

Ryo sighed. He can no longer reach to this boy. This boy's heart have someone he liked already. Although he had clearly promised Massu that he would take care of Tegoshi, but how long must he be away, did he know that his existence was so important to Tegoshi? Ryo folded the letter back, and reminded himself to return the letter back to it's original master.

"Tegoshi, come here," Ryo called for Tegoshi. Tegoshi was making some coffees to wake himself up. It was another insomnia night. "Here," Ryo took out the letter and pass it to Tegoshi. "It belongs to you, right?" Tegoshi took over the letter. It was crumpled, and he looked at it. "Ryo-kun? W..Where did you get this from?" Ryo scratched his head. "Ah, i found it inside the dustbin long ago, anyway, just take it back, and keep it safe," With that, Ryo walked away.

Tegoshi stared blankly at the letter. He then hold the letter towards his chest, and sobbed, his tears staining onto the crumpled letter. Massu, i really miss you, when can i see you again? He ran all the way to the rooftop, and gazed at the sky. He needed sometimes alone, even if it is a meant of skipping lessons, he don't care-at all. Reading his letter to Massu over and over again, he remembered how the first time he met Massu.

"Eh, I'll get going now!" Tegoshi replied, as he waved back, and walked out of the house. It was a fairly pretty day today for a walk in the park. He lied to his mother, he had no friends. Nobody would want to be friends with a child who does not have a father and mother.

He dragged his feet as he came to the park. He settled down onto the bench, and observed the other kids playing soccer at the field. Just when he was getting really bored, a person approaches him. "Hello, mind if i sit here?" Tegoshi faced up, to be greeeted by an older boy. The boy smiled, and Tegoshi nodded his head. I wonder why? Not long after, Tegoshi then got up and wanting to leave, when the boy stood up, and stopped him. "I'm.. I'm Masuda Takahisa. Nice to meet you!"

Since that day, both of them have being going out together. They always meet together, laughed together, played together. They even gave each other nicknames of ,"Tesshi" and "Massu". These names were special, very special to both of them. But then, just when things were getting along great, just when Tegoshi was awared of his true feelings to Masuda, a terrible thing happened.

"Tesshi, let's not meet anymore," Masuda sounded. Tegoshi widened his eyes. Not meet anymore? Why not? They were getting along so fine, what is the sudden change of attitude? "Why? Massu? Why?" Tegoshi asked, concentrating on the word, Why?  Masuda bowed his head, and he muttered, "It's time,"

Time? Time for what? Tegoshi looked at Masuda, expecting an answer. "Tesshi, I don't belong here, I.. I .." Masuda stammered, "I can't stay here.. I.."

"Massu! You promised me that you'll stay with my forever! Don't break your promise! I beg you, stay with me...!" Tegoshi begged, his knees on the ground. Masuda squatted down beside him. "Tesshi, it's against my will, I wish to stay with you, but things are not as simple as it is," he stopped, and patting Tegoshi's head. "I'll be back, believe in me. I won't leave you all alone in this dimension, I will come back one day, wait for me," Masuda promised, nodding his head. Tegoshi, tears still flowing down from his eyes, shaked his head, slowly. Masuda gave him a kiss on the lips, before he closes his eyes. He let go of Tegoshi's grip, and made himself fall back. Just then, a black hole appeared behind Masuda, and he sinked into it. Tegoshi wanted to run towards him, but there was like a force pulling him to the ground, making him unable to stand up. "Massu! Don't leave me..!"

But it was too late. Masuda has bein sucked into the black hole, and he can never make it back, of course. Ever since that day, Tegoshi have being writing letters to him. And carrying the thoughts of wanting to meet Masuda again, he send off the letters out from his bedroom window.

Naiyou No Nai Tegami.

The letter from his hand flew away. The wind was too strong. Tegoshi hurriedly chased after it. The letter got stucked at the tip of the fence. Tegoshi, holding onto the railing beside him, tried to stretch out and reach for the letter. "Just.. Just abit more...!" Tegoshi shouted. Ryo opened the door of the roof, and looked around for Tegoshi.

"Tegoshi? Tego--" Ryo called, when he was interuptted by the shout of Yamapi.

"Ryo! Look!" Yamapi frnatically pointed to the railings direction. He turned, and saw Tegoshi just on the brink of the railings. Suicide!?

Ryo and Yamapi ran towards Tegoshi, and stopping by a few centremetres away, they urged Tegoshi to come back. "Tegoshi! Don't.. don't do anything rash! Just come back first, there's always room for discussion!"

"Go away, I.. I want to take--AHH!" Tegoshi shouted, when he almost slipped down, but caught the bar in the nick of the time. "Tegoshi! Just come over here right now..!" Ryo shouted, his heart was about to burst. "No! I am not going to go back! Just you wait!" Tegoshi shouted, fighting against the strong wind. Tegoshi strectched out more, until he finally caught onto the letter that was stucked onto the fence. But yet, he slipped. He falled down and down and down, and he could hear Ryo's constant shouting of his name.

"TEGOSHIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Abyss of darkness. It was described that way, isn't so? He looked around him. It was all the letters that he had wrote for Masuda.

Dear Massu,

Are you fine? Are you missing me?

Yuya

Dear Massu,

I am loving you, I got my guitar!

Yuya

Dear Massu,

You are everything to me, I can't live without you..

Yuya

Dear Massu,

I went to the soccer field where we first meet. "I'm Takahisa Masuda!Nice to meet you!" I remember every word you've said...

Yuya

Tegoshi closed his eyes, as he floated inside this place, full of his letters to Massu. Am i going to die? Is this the end of my life? Am I not meeting Massu anymore?
