<< PART ONE                                                                                       PART THREE >>

“Riko-chan!” Takaki called out. Riko looked out from the window of her room, and she gazed down. “Yuyan!” she called out, before she rushed back into her house, and went down to open the door.
Somehow, Riko was always looking forward to Wednesday- it’s the day that Takaki would always come over to her house to eat dinner. “Yuya-chan!” a voice was heard, and Takaki have walked over to the kitchen. “Good evening, oba-san!”

"Sit anywhere you want! Dinner is starting soon!" Riko's mother exclaimed, before she went back to cook. "Yuyan, come on up!" Riko shouted at Takaki. Takaki excused himself and went up to Riko's room.

Once he entered, the first thing that caught his attention was the small box on the studying table. Takaki grinned, before he walked back to the space on the floor, and settled onto it.

"Yuyan, this question, I am not so sure..." Riko mumbled, as she passed over a paper to Takaki. Takaki took it over, and slowly reading it. At the side, Riko was actually flushing red. She didn't understand why does her heart thump so hard and fast when Takaki is near her. She didn't understand why when Takaki smiled towards her nowadays, she would feel shy, and tried avoiding his gaze. She didn't understand why when she and Takaki didn't meet for only one day, and sue would miss him so much.

She wondered all these to herself.

"Riko, you do this to find the unknown, and from there you do this..." Takaki explained, as he leaned closer and closer to Riko. Riko's heart was pounding so hard that it could nearly burst out. "NO!" she shouted, pushing Takaki away from her side.

"Ri...ko?" Takaki mumbled. Riko drew back her hands, and realized she have did something very terrible. She looked up at Takaki, with her tear-stained eyes. "Riko, you alright?" Takaki asked, concerned, as he slowly moved himself to Riko's direction. Riko retracted, and moved back.

"Riko?" he asked. Riko's head was lowered, and she managed to mumble something. "Yuyan.." she stood up, and went over to take the necklace, and pushed it to Takaki's hand. "I'm scared,"

Takaki remained quiet, he knew Riko's sentence was not finished. "I don't get this anymore, ain't we siblings? If .. If .. We will only upset mama and papa!"

"Riko..."

"I don't want this! Yuyan is Riko's special person!" Riko said out, her tears flowing down from her eyes. "I understand what you mean, Riko, I am sorry for forcing you," Takaki said, as he stood up, and open the room door. Just when he was walking down the stairs, a voice stopped him.

"Yuya-chan,"

"Oba-san..."

Takaki remained quiet while Riko's mother lead him to the living room. "Yuya-chan, I'm sorry, making you and Riko like this.."

"It's okay, Oba-san. Ultimately, it's not your fault. It's me who can't control my own feelings well enough.."

"But Yuya-chan.. You have been liking Riko since young. Oba-san knows it, I can feel it..." her mother said, lowering her head. Takaki smiled bitterly. "But yet, because of me and Mako-kun, making you guys feeling troubled and guilty... I'm ashamed.."

"Oba-san!" Takaki screamed out. Riko heard the commotion and staggered her way out of the room. She reached neR the stairs, when she heard Takaki and her mother's conversation. "It's not your fault, nor it's father's fault.." he whispered. Riko used her palms to cover her mouth when the next sentence came put from Takaki.

"It's my fault for not confessing to Riko earlier..."

Riko crumbled to the floor.

When Riko and Takaki were both 12 years old, their parents both return home.

Takasugi Riko. Her mother have single-handed raise her up, since her father dumped both of them when she was only a baby.

Takaki Yuya, his father have also single-hand raised him up, when his mother died right after giving brith to him.

That night,Takaki's father have announced, "Ayumi-chan and I are getting married, from now on, we are a family,"

Riko jumped up and down. It have been 12 years since she have longed for a father, and it finally came true. Takaki plunged onto the sofa, his eyes were slightly brim g with tears. Not visible, but if one sees clearly, the tears were actually at the tip of his eyes, and Riko's mother saw them.

"Yuya-chan..."Riko's mother mumbled. Guilt have engulfed heras she looked at the said boy whose headwas now rest g on his own fist.

Riko's tears was flowing down from her eyes continuously as she continue to hear the conversation.

"Oba-san, I shouldn't have passed that necklace to Riko. If I didn't, I wouldn't be so wrecked up now..." Takaki whispered under his breadthe. "Neck... lace?" Riko's mother repeated after him. Takaki nodded his head, before he took out the box from his pocket, and passed it over to Riko's mother.

"Remember? Back then when my father just announced both of your marriage, he brought us to Singapore for holiday. I brought it from there ..."

"Yuyan! Look! This is so beautiful!" Riko screamed out, as she clinger onto Takaki's hand and pulled him over to the display.

"Which one, Riko?" Takaki asked. Riko was pointing down to a particular blue diamond heart shape necklace. "It looks like a star. A beautiful and elegant shooting star," Riko said, her eyes glittering.

"Ask papa to buy it for you then!" Takaki commented. Riko shake her head, "My boyfriend will buy it for me next time! One day!" Riko took a last longing glance, before she walked off.

After that day, Takaki went missing for six days, and it made his whole family worried sick about him. On the day he came back, he was filthy and haggard.

"But...where did you get the money back then?" Riko's mother muttered out. She knew something shocking would be coming after this.

"I worked. I went from place to place, qskingif they needehelp. I worked from morning to night... And finally I got enough money for the necklace.." he smiled as h thought back.

"That's illegal! What if you got caught ?!" Riko's mother raised her voice. A mere 12 years old boy working ?! She can't imagine the hardships Takaki went through. Takaki smiled, "I know, but for Riko, everything is really worth it,"

"Yu... yan..." Riko mouthed his name, before she got up, and locked her room door.

"I wondered what happened to Riko-chan..." Abby mumbled as she looked towards Aiko. Aiko nodded her head. "It have been two days since she's absent..."

Just then, Abby felt a pat on her shoulder, and she turned around. "Abby-chan!"

"Tegoshi-kun, good morning," Abby said, her face changed immediately. Aiko eyed Abby, and then Tegoshi, before she made a mental note in her head to ask Abby about it after school.

Later, Aiko and Abby sepearated their ways, since they are going for their individual lessons. Tegoshi followed Abby.

"Could you stop following me? It's kind of irritating," Abby glared at Tegoshi. "Eh?! But I'm so friendly!" he retorted. Abby rolled her eyes, before she turned and quickened her pace.

'Why?' she thought to herself. 'Just why can't he leave me alone?!'

She settled down onto the seat, and Tegoshi settled down beside her.Grumbling, she faced her head towards the window.

"Abby-chan," Tegoshi called out. Abby looked at him , and the expression on Tegoshi's face startled Abby.

"You always looked so sad, did anyone mentioned that to you before?"

Abby lowered her head. Tegoshi smiled. "Bingo! Nobody mentioned that before, but you did felt that way, right?" Tegoshi said again.

"Mind telling me?" he asked again. Abby closed her eyes. 'Why does Tegoshi resembled him so much that I... started to treat him like him ...?' she thought.

It all started on that day, that very day when her boyfriend betrayed her.

"Abby!" she turned to the voice, and saw the familiar figure running towards her. "Yamada!" she exclaimed. "Sorry, somethings..." he apologized, and before he even explained, Abby cut him off. "Let's go!"

Abby never expected Yamada Ryousuke, her boyfriend to cheat on her. Afterall, he's the one faithful chap in the school.

She wondered why.

"And then, Riko and Aiko was saying this..."Throughout the date, Abby was tying her best to keep up the conversation, but Yamada wasn't interested at all. Abby finally stopped in her tracks.

"Abby?" Yamada questioned, before he placed his ha phone back into his pocket. "What's wrong?" he asked again. "Yamada, you're not listening. Am I boring?"

"Of course not silly! How would you be boring ?"

"Then, why?"

"Sorry, I...." Yamada mumbled. He's a faithful guy, but also an honest guy. " I don't think we would work out anymore. I don't feel the sane for you like I felt last time already..."

Abby's eyes widened, before she continued to probe on. "Who?" she stopped, and asked again. "Who is it?"

"Yu..." he stopped, closed his eyes, and clenched his fist. "It's Yuto-kun,"

"I was finding a chance to try to tell you this,Abby," Yamada explained. "I know you are feeling..." before he finished, Abby have send a slap across his face. "Why didn't you say earlier?!" He bended down his head. "Go!" she screamed, and everybody started to stare at her. Abby doesn't care. "Just freaking go, and don't appear in front of me ever again!"

Gritting his teeth, Yamada bowed his head, and left.

Abby smiled, as she smacked herself in the face. "But, it doesn't really matter anymore, just that sometimes I would just thought of him.." she paused, and looked at Tegoshi. "You resembled him too much, until I can't control myself,"

"Then, fall," Tegoshi said. Abby gazed at him before he smiled, and said his sentence as he stood up. "I'll be here to catch you,"

Abby placed her head onto the desk, and slowly her tears started to fall.

She decided to skip lessons that day. After all, she didn't really have any close friends in the class, and she's always alone. She went to her favorite spot in the school, the lake. She settled on the grass and started to feel the gentle breeze blowing to her direction.

Fishing out her phone, she saw the message that was send to her in the morning.

Good morning Aiko-chan. Do you want to meet for dinner tonight?

Aiko smiled. She clutched onto her phone, "I made a right decision on contacting Chinen-san, ne?"

Sure. She clicked send, and gazed up to the sky again.

"Sugihara-san! Here!" Chinen called out, as Aiko walked up to him. "Call anything, I'm treating,"

Aiko smiled as she looked into the menu. Just then, familiar voices was heard and she turned.

Why is it always them?

"Chinen?" the girl called out. Chinen turned to the source of voice, and he stood up. "Kiri-chan? Hiroyuki?"

"It's really you!" Kiri said out, as she ran and jumped inti his embrace.

Why am I always losing to her?

"Who are you ..." before Kiri have completed her sentence, she turned to have a look. "Aiko...-chan?"

Aiko managed to force a smile onto her before she stood up, with her lowered head. "Sugihara Aiko! Stop acting like you are so pitiful!"

Aiko stopped in her tracks, before Kiri ran up to Hiroyuki. "Yuki-kun! Apologise to Aiko!"

"Why did you said that, Hiroyuki?!" Chinen shouted, as he ran up to where Aiko was, and stand in front of her.

Saito sneered, before he grabbed onto Kiri's hands. "Aiko, you're the one that told me, loving someone, there is no right or wrong,"

Aiko widened her eyes, as she looked up to Saito. No, this is not the Saito she knows. "Stop it Hiroyuki!" Chinen shouted out again. "Yuki-kun...!" Kiri was standing in front of Saito, trying to shut his mouth, but to no avail.

Aiko started to clench her fist, and she looked up at Saito and Kiri. That scene flashed inside her mind ..

'Aiko-chan, can we talk?' Kiri came towards her one day. Aiko look at her, and stood up before following where Kiri was leading her to. "Kiri-chan, what is it?"

"I .... I love Saito... Can you..." before Kiri finished her sentence, Aiko cut her off. "What are you trying to hint to me, Kiri-chan?"

"Please... let Saito go...". Kiri mumbled. Aiko widened her eyes, and she shakes her head. "No! Hiro-kun is my boyfriend, why must I..." before she continued, she stopped. Right behind Kiri, was Saito.

"Hiro..-kun,"

"She's right," Saito spoke up, as he slowly walked up towards where the two girls are. "No point on it,"

Aiko smiled, but realized that the direction of his steps wasn't towards her. "Kiri-chan, I love you. I will take responsibility of what I have done, after all I did it because I really love you alot..."

His lips was planted onto Kiri's right in front of Aiko. "Responsible..?" Aiko echoed his words. Kiri mumbled out, "I'm Yuki-kun's woman ... Already," Aiko widened her eyes, before she turned and left.

"Hiroyuki! That was terrible! Apologize to Aiko!" Chinen screamed. "You're the one that let Aiko down!"

"Blame herself for been dull!" Saito shouted back, as he took up the plate and smashed it onto the floor. "She's like a dog you know, Chinen. She's not a player, look,"

"Aiko..." Saito's voice changed. That voice- the one that always sings her to sleep. That voice- that always gently caress her face. "Help me, will you?"

Aiko started to bend down, and picked up the smashed pieces of porcelain. "Sugihara-San!" Chinen shouted out, as he grabbed onto Aiko's arm. Aiko continue to pick up, before the sharp gee graze her fingers. Without even uttering a slight pain, she continue picking up, as the red metallic liquid flow out from her finger.

"AIKO!" Chinen screamed. Aiko stopped, and smiling, she looked up at Chinen. "It's not that I am obeying Hiro-kun you know, it's because I love him alot, and I want him to be happy, that's why I did what he wants..." she stopped, and tears flowed down her eyes, as she continued muffling, "It's because I thought if I do what he wants, he would be happy, so I always did what he wanted..."

Chinen glared at Saito. He retracted slightly, before he arrogantly left the place with Kiri beside him.

Aiko stopped what she was doing, and her sorrowness was still flowing out. "Aiko..." Chinen whispered, as he bended down, and pushed her head down to his chest. "You're tired, it's time for you to rest,"

Aiko encircled her hands to the back of Chinen's, and slowly she closed her eyes, allowing her body to melt to his warmth.

How long have it been?
