The light shine in brightly through the window panels as she weakly smiled at that small scenery revealing in front of her. “Ta…ka..” she mumbled, wanting so much for that boy to be by her side right now. But she know she couldn’t. After all, he had school, and what’s more, he’s the first class student councilor. He can’t always be on leave, like… forever.

Later in the afternoon, a knock on the door was heard, and in came was that middle-aged man dress in his white robe. “Feeling better, Sugihara?” the voice was somehow warming, but not very pleasant. “Yes, thanks for your concern, Nishikido-sensei,”

“I have came with a good and bad news, which would you like to listen?” he asked, as he took the chair beside her and settled down onto it. “Whichever you think it’s the best for me, Sensei,”

It has been few weeks after the hospital visit with Tegoshi. It have been bothering Masuda a lot that he just couldn’t stop thinking how he had felt during the time when they embraced each other. It was just for a moment, but what was that feeling that he felt when they embraced?

Tegoshi settled inside the café, with Abby just across him. “Tego-kun, what happened?” she asked concerned. Ever since he came back from the hospital about a few weeks ago, he has been dazing off for quite a few times already. The usual Tegoshi doesn’t do that.

“Ah, sorry Abby, just something is on my mind for quite awhile,” Tegoshi said.

“Ne, is it about me?” Abby voiced out, before she looked at Tegoshi. Tegoshi glanced up and down, trying his best to either avoid her question, or avoid her glances. Tegoshi kept quiet, and Abby then forced a smile onto her face. “I’m joking! Oh, do you mind if you bring me to visit the girl that you’ve been mentioning about?”

Tegoshi took his cup of tea, and drink. He then looked around, before looking back to his food. “I don’t mind,” Tegoshi finally replied. Abby happily took her phone and started texting on it. She’s excited, to see that girl. According to what Tegoshi had said about her, she thinks that both of them would be very good friends if they are to know each other.

“Sorry to intrude,” Tegoshi said, before he opened the room door, and what appeared behind was the girl lying on her bed, laughing and giggling to a guy beside her.

“Ah, Tegoshi-san,” Masuda said out, before he stood up, and bowed down. Abby appeared behind Tegoshi and smiled towards Masuda, before looking at the girl. “So pretty,” Abby said out, mesmerized by the girl’s everything.

“Oh, sorry for my rudeness,” Abby corrected herself, before she looked at the girl that was lying on the bed. “My name is Abby Rose Flores, Tegoshi’s girlfriend. Nice to meet you!”

The girl smiled, and nodded her head. “My name is Sugihara Aiko,”

Both of them looked at each other, before laughing. The boys then excused themselves out of the room as they allowed the girls to talk to each other. They settled down outside the chairs located outside the room, before Masuda got up and pressed the machine for a drink.

“Want some?” Masuda asked as he offered it to Tegoshi. Tegoshi just gladly shake his head as he looked at Masuda.

The awkward silence surfaced around the both of them as the second hand on the clock started to move. However, they both made no effort to destroy the silence. Masuda then stood up, and walked down the aisle. Tegoshi just followed.

“Hey, do you believe that… when something don’t want to happen, it however always happen to you?” Masuda mumbled, as he looked back to Tegoshi. Tegoshi blinked his eyes for a few times, before he walked up to where Masuda was standing. He nodded his head, before he took over the cup of drink that Masuda was holding on.

“Taka-kun told me a lot about you,” the girl said as she looked at her, before she took the cup of water from the desk. “Really?” The girl nodded her head, before she looked at her. “You look beautiful,” Abby muttered out, before she turned and blushed.

“Thanks, you look stunning too,” Aiko commented, before both of them look at each other and smile. “I’ll bring this for washing,” Abby said, before she stood up and take the jar, and went into the toilet to wash it.

“You know, it’s always been my dream to have a friend. I’m glad that you and Tegoshi-san stopped by today. It’s like… something brought you here to meet me,” Aiko said out, as she looked straight, into the clear blue sky.

Abby smiled at the comment. Few minutes later, she came out of the toilet, placed the jar down, and smiled at Aiko. “I know, don’t worry, from now on, you will not only gain a good friend, but rather a best friend you can ever rely on,”

Few months later…

“It’s impossible right. You’re kidding,” Abby voiced out as she looked at Aiko and started frowning, before she etched a smile onto her face. “OH MY GOSH, AIKO!” she screamed, before running towards Aiko and hugging her.

“You did it! I know you will!” she shouted out, before tears started to form at the tip of her eyes. “Thanks Abby-chan,” Aiko said out, before smiling at Abby. “I’m going to show Taka-kun later on!” Aiko exclaimed. Abby nodded her head, as she grabbed onto Aiko’s hand tightly.

"Why can't you know how much I love you?" he said, as he grabbed onto his hands, and gazed into his eyes. "Tegoshi, believe me, one day, i'll break up with her, and get with you, trust me,"

"I'll trust you, Massu,"

“But how?” Masuda looked at Tegoshi as he pushed his head onto his shoulders. Few months later, Masuda realized his feelings for Tegoshi, and Tegoshi somehow knew that he loved Masuda as well. But how? How are they going to tell Abby and Aiko about this?

“No wait, Massu, we can’t do this. I’ve been with Abby like.. forever, I can’t do this to her!” Tegoshi said, before he pushed his hands away from Masuda.

Masuda didn’t bother to hold onto him. After all, he was right. He had been with Aiko since young. How could he just leave Aiko just like that, and go together with Tegoshi like nothing has ever happened?

Both of them pushed the matter aside and went to the hospital to visit Aiko. Aiko have been admitted inside the hospital once again since the doctor said he had some medicines to help her.

“Ai--” before Masuda could call her out, arms were flinged around his shoulders, and a familiar figure was right there, standing and hugging him. Tegoshi’s eyes widened, as he covered his mouth with one of his hand.

“Ai-ko?!” Tegoshi screamed, before Abby have hooked her hand around his arm, smirking to herself.

“Taka-kun! Look!” Aiko released the grip, and started twirling around in circles in front of him. “It’s awesome isn’t it! I’m walking!” she shouted, twirling around like there’s no tomorrow. Masuda hurriedly grabbed her wrist and pulled her in for another hug. “Ai… I’m glad you’re fine already,” Masuda whispered, tears flowing down from his eyes. Tegoshi just stood there, his eyes reddening every second.

Abby saw that. She knows something wasn’t right with Tegoshi. He’s not the emotional kind that will get touched by such a scene.

“Aiko,” Abby voiced out one day. “Abby? What happened?” Aiko asked, concerned as she held onto her hand. “I got a feeling that Tegoshi doesn’t really… likes me already,”

Aiko’s hand released the grip, and she looked at Abby. “I already know who is that,”

The two girls look at each other before a bitter smile surfaced on their face.

“MASUDA! COME TO THE HOSPITAL! AIKO … SHE CANT MAKE IT!” Abby shouted into the phone. Masuda looked at Tegoshi, before both of them ran towards the hospital, like how they did on the first day they know each other. They was worried, of course, they didn’t want something to happen to Aiko.

“HERE!” Abby shouted once she saw the two running figures at the aisle. Abby stopped Tegoshi from entering, and she lead Masuda in.

As Masuda entered, he realized that the curtain of the bed was drawn, and he slowly walked towards it. Abby went forward, and placed her hands onto his wrist. “You… ready?”

“What happened?” that was all Masuda asked.

Then, he turned, and draws the curtains out. “Ai?” he whispered.

“I can’t do this, Abby,” Aiko’s voice was heard, and Abby just shake her head. Going towards the curtain, she draws it open fully, before she head towards the room door, open it, and Tegoshi came stumbling in.

“Wh…What?” Masuda got stunned, as he looked at Aiko, and then at Abby.

“Guys, stop cheating on us, we know everything already,” Abby said, as she went towards Aiko’s bed and settled down on it.

“Taka-kun, you’re in love aren’t you?” Aiko asked, as her hands went towards Abby’s shoulder, and wrapped it around. “It’s my boyfriend, mind you,” Abby continued, looking at Masuda.

Tegoshi and Masuda looked at each other before they looked away, face flushed red. “I didn’t expect such a thing to happen to you, Tego-kun,” Abby said, her hands gripping tightly onto the sheets of the blanket. “We wanted to test you guys, but I guess it’s just weird right?” Abby continued before looking back to Aiko.

“Taka-kun, all you had for me was nothing about love. It was just a brotherly feeling, don’t you know that?” Aiko said, before looking at Masuda. “Didn’t you know that you have sigh in relieve when you know Aiko can walk, did you know that?” Abby said.

Masuda lowered his head. Tegoshi slowly walked to the side of Masuda, and just when he was about to talk, Abby pushed Tegoshi and followed by Masuda out of the room. “SCRAM! WE don’t want to see both of you! Leave! LEAVE OUR LIFE!”

The room door was slammed shut.

“Abby-chan… T..Thank you,” Aiko started coughing out loud, as Abby hurriedly passed a drink to her. “It’s alright. I’ll be here with you,”

Although two of them could officially be a couple, the two girls never left their thought.

Few years later…

“Tesshi, here!” Masuda said before handing up a document into his hand. Both of them are currently working in the same company, and stayed in the same house. “Massu, you tired?” Tegoshi asked, as he went towards Masuda and started massaging for him on the shoulders. “I’m alright, as long you’re here,”

“Idiot,” Tegoshi said before hammering his head.

***

“Aiko, slowly alright?” Abby said, as she sat at the side and looked at the girl practicing her walking.

Few years back, the doctor have came into her room and told her that her chance of walking still remains at the 1% range. The good news is that, there is a medicine that could make her walk, but it was only for a period of time. But if you eat the medicine on long term, the person can die.

That time, she took the medicine so that Masuda would be happy. So that she knows what Masuda was thinking actually.

Abby smiled, before flashbacks of Tegoshi came back to her. She wondered how is he doing now.

When Aiko is done with her exercise, Abby helped her back to the seats. “Why are you working so hard?” Abby asked, as she wiped off the perspiration formed at Aiko’s forehead.

“You see, so that one day when I meet Taka-kun, I can proudly tell him that I’m fine without him in my life,”

“You can, I believe in you,” Abby said before she hugged Aiko.
