“Aiko?” the voice called her for a numerous times but she just stared blankly into space. “AIKO!” he shouted so loudly that it dragged her back into reality. “Ah, Taka-kun?”
“You alright?” his face looked worried, and his hand just went to her forehead, and touched on it to make sure that she doesn’t have any fever.
Aiko’s face turned red slightly, before she pushed Takaki’s hand away. “I’m alright, don’t worry,” she smiled and nodded her head, before she lowered her head.
Takaki smiled. But that smile had a hidden meaning behind it.

Riko and Chinen walked side by side as they slowly headed home. “Chinen, you shouldn’t be skipping lessons as often as this anymore,” Riko said, as she turned and walked backwards.
Chinen looked up to the sky for a few seconds, before he looked at Riko. “That’s nothing to do with you, right?”
“There is! I’m your friend! So I need to make sure that you go to school!”
Chinen shake his head. “That’s more like my… mother or something,”
Riko pouted. “FINE! Saying me old when I’m trying to help you here!”
Riko stormed off without waiting for Chinen. Chinen smiled to himself before he starts to chase after Riko. “Hey, I’m sorry. I was just joking,”
“Go away!” Riko shouted, but deep inside her heart, she’s smiling.

“Reputation doesn’t matter, huh?” Aiko stared at room ceiling as she closed her eyes, and remember those words that Chinen Yuri has said to her.
“That boy… is a mystery,” she whispered.

Aiko have scooped her food from the school cafeteria, and holding onto the tray, she walked around the place, hoping to find some seat available.
Just as she reached the corner, she saw that figure sitting at the most secluded corner of the cafeteria. Smiling, she stood up straight and walked towards the table. “Hi, you remember me?”
The girl looked up, and her eyes widened as the person right in front of her revealed. “A… Su… Sugihara-san!”
“Is this seat taken?” Aiko asked. Riko just shake her head, and offered her to take a seat.
Aiko smiled again, and thanked her.
“You.. You know me?”
“Yeap. The girl who bumped me at the walkway, and Taka-kun was so worried!”
Riko blushed, and scratched her head. “I’m sorry. I wasn’t really looking at where I was going to,” Riko apologized once again. “It’s okay, I’m not blaming you,” Aiko said, before she picked up her chopsticks.
“Chinen got really angry at me too,” Riko said as she picked up her noodles from the bowl and started to sip it in. “Chinen? As in, Chinen Yuri-san?” Aiko questioned, at the same time picking up her bowl of rice, and pouring it over with the sauce. “Yes. You know him?”
“I do know him. But I didn’t realize he was the guy beside you the other time, I must be really tired,” Aiko said, as she scooped her rice and stuffed it into her mouth.
“Oh, talking to you for so long, I still don’t know your name. Apologize me for my rudeness,” Aiko bowed down. “My name is Takasugi Riko. Year Two. But I’m sixteen, one year younger than Chinen. I got in by scholarship, so I was able to skip a grade,”
“Oh really? I’m sixteen too, I skipped a grade too.”
Aiko looked down to her tray, picked up the pickles by the side and ate it.
“Riko-chan, I’ll call you that from now on, alright?” Aiko beamed, before continued to eat her lunch.

“Sugihara Aiko?” Chinen exclaimed, which caught the attention of the teacher. “What is the matter, Chinen-san?”
“Nothing, I’m sorry,” Chinen apologized, before he looked towards to Riko. “And then?”
“We’re now friends!” Riko said, like a little rabbit hopping happily. Chinen just eyed at Riko, and went back to his notes.
‘I wonder if she is just plainly wanting to be friends with Riko,’ Chinen thought to himself, before he looked at Riko, who was eagerly smiling at her notes, while twirling her pen on her right.
The school bell ring and it’s the release from lessons. “Going home?” Chinen probed as he looked towards Riko who was already starting to pack her bag. “I’m going to meet Aiko-san for dinner tonight! Go ahead without me!” Riko exclaimed, before she grabbed her bag, and attempted to run off, before Chinen have grabbed her wrist in the nick of the time. “I’m coming with you,” without allowing Riko to retort, Chinen dragged her behind him.

“Oh, hello Chinen-san, I hope you do remember me,” Aiko said, as she looked at Chinen and smiled.
Chinen glared at her, before releasing his grip on Riko, and moving to one corner. Riko and Aiko started talking, before three of them decided to walk towards their destination.
“Don’t you dare do anything to Riko,” Chinen whispered into Aiko’s ear. The voice was stern, and firm, and Aiko just turned to look at Chinen, before he walked off to Riko’s side. Aiko stopped in her tracks, and gazed up to look at the both shadows.
“Why is everyone so wary of me? Why doesn’t they treat me like how they treat their normal friends? I….” before Aiko could even continue, she turned and ran off, without Riko and Chinen knowing.
“I just wanted to live a normal life, as Sugihara Aiko. Not in the shadows of Takaki Yuya,”Labels: Facade
